Breaking News – ICC removes CEO Manu Sawhney with immediate effect, Geoff Allardyce will be Exceutive CEO
Indian cricket council CEO Manu Sawhney resigned on Thursday, four months after being sent on leave for his harsh behaviour. “CEO Manu Sawhney is leaving the organization with immediate effect. Geoff Allardyce will continue as Executive CEO,” the ICC said. However, Sawhney is not happy with the decision.
“Chief Executive Manu Sawhney is leaving the organization with immediate effect,” the ICC said in a statement. Geoff Allardyce will continue to take over as Executive CEO. Sahni was sent on leave pending investigation in March for his harsh treatment of his associates. Sawhney had termed the world body’s investigation against him as a pre-planned conspiracy. He succeeded Dave Richardson as CEO after the ICC World Cup in 2019 and his term was to end in 2022.
Sawhney made big allegations on ICC
Actually, on June 21, Sawhney made a big disclosure about the ICC. He had said that all the allegations against him were pointless. He denied the allegations against him, saying that he was the victim of a pre-planned conspiracy. At the same time, he had also claimed that there was a conspiracy against him. CEO Manu Sawhney, who was suspended due to allegations of misconduct, said in a statement, “I am well aware that I have been the victim of a premeditated conspiracy. All claims of initiating a fair process or giving me a fair trial have been dropped. In the month of March, Manu Sawhney was sent on ‘leave’ as his behaviour had come under the internal scrutiny of audit company PwC.
