India started the tour of Sri Lanka with a win. The Indian cricket team defeated hosts Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the first ODI. With this, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Chamika Karunaratne played the highest innings of 43 not out for Sri Lanka. For India, pacers Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep and Chahal took two wickets while Hardik and Krunal took one wicket each.
Bhuvneshwar bowls the last of the over. He runs out Dasmantha Chameera off the last ball. However, he conceded 19 runs in the last over. He proved to be the most expensive. Bhuvneshwar gave 63 runs in 9 overs. He didn’t even get any wicket.
